Plain rules for a plain service.

The service

exakt lets you upload files, keep them byte for byte, and share them with the people you choose. By creating an account or opening a transfer you agree to these terms.

Your account

• You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in details safe.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use exakt.
• Give us accurate details and keep them current.

Your content

• You keep every right to the files you upload. We claim none.
• You give us permission to store, copy, and deliver your files only as needed to run the service and to honour the sharing settings you choose.
• You confirm you have the right to upload and share everything you send through exakt.

Acceptable use

Do not use exakt to:

• Store or share content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or that you have no right to distribute.
• Distribute malware, or anything designed to damage or gain unauthorised access to systems.
• Harass, threaten, or exploit anyone, or share intimate images without consent.
• Probe, overload, or interfere with the service, or bypass its limits, rate limits, or security measures.
• Run automated bulk uploads or downloads beyond ordinary personal or team use.

Limits

• Each file can be up to 5 GB, and each transfer can hold up to 100 files.
• Each account has a storage allowance shown on the Profile tab. Deleting transfers frees space.
• We apply rate limits to uploads, sharing changes, password attempts, and download links so the service stays fast for everyone.
• Unfinished uploads are removed after 24 hours.
• We may change these limits; the current values are always shown in the app.

What we may do

• Remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms or put the service or other people at risk, with notice where we reasonably can.
• Change or discontinue features. We will try to give notice of changes that matter.

What we promise, and what we do not

• We verify every file with a SHA-256 checksum so that what arrives is what was sent.
• exakt is provided as is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free, and it is not a backup service. Keep your own copies of anything important.
• To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of exakt.

Ending things

You can delete your account at any time from the dashboard. We can end or suspend access if you break these terms. Sections about your content, liability, and disputes survive termination.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. Continuing to use exakt after a change means you accept the new terms.
